Account Manager

The Role:

This person will develop the accounts across the channel and private label business and grow market share by sourcing and developing new business opportunities. You will be reporting to the National Account Controller.

Location: Dublin, Cork  

Role Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong professional relationships with relevant contacts and teams
  • Deliver sales and profit targets
  • Have a complete understanding of all the sales, business development and sales support opportunities within this group of customers
  • Review regularly the merchandising and brand capabilities of the company products
  • Agree and publish joint business plan
  • Identify and exploit any relevant sales opportunities
  • Manage all customer queries promptly and liaise with relevant teams on new business implementation
  • Analyse and report on sales and operations statistics to determine business growth potential and maximise gross profit contribution
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of key product areas and equipment range and be able to illustrate business advantage to customers
  • Familiarise yourself at all times with the activity and products of competitors to formulate a sales strategy
  • Support new customer openings, site launch days, installs, and promotional activity and trade/exhibition days

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • A strong background of working within major grocery retailers, ideally at a global level and/or with customers operating globally
  • A track record of understanding and owning all elements of private label commodity pricing models and confidentially managing the process with external and internal stakeholders
  • Track record of excellent business development, and account management skills
  • Experience within an OOH background desirable
  • Experience of working within foodservice category desirable
  • Beverage experience beneficial
  • Working with internal and external Category and Insights teams delivering range reviews and planogram recommendations and secondary space initiatives
  • Ownership and delivery of all elements of long term, strategic JBP’s
  • Demonstrate experience of sound cross functional working both internally and externally
  • Strong influencing, financial and negotiating skills
  • Enjoys working collaboratively
  • Ability to present strategies and solutions at all levels
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills
  • A strategic mind-set with drive, resilience and ambition
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude
  • Some travel will be required with this role
