Account Manager – Fresh Produce

The purpose of this role is to develop an account plan for each customer and set the strategic direction for the channel.

Highly driven individual with extensive knowledge of fresh produce being creative and commercial. A fresh food background is desirable.

**Salary and package fully negotiable depending on experience**

Role Responsibilities:

  • Managing margin within each account and across their total portfolio
  • Deliver sales value target & margin within each customer and across account portfolio
  • Develop and execute account plan for each customer
  • Implement & execute a promotional plan which will include NPD and promotional offers
  • Completion of written correspondence (contact reports) regarding meetings, proposals, re-negotiations, presentations
  • Constantly review margins being achieved versus targets, reduce/manage credit risk customers, ensure pricing on file is correct at each customer level to avoid unnecessary credits
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and packing import and export would be beneficial
  • Ensures pricing defensibility is maintained and or implemented across the account portfolio/channel where customer operate across both the Irish and international markets pricing defensibility is maintained
  • Responsibility for managing a minimum of €20 million sales value across a range of customers and the appropriate margin target assigned to those customers
  • Produce financials proposals to win, retain and/or re-negotiate existing/new customers

Key Skills & Experience required:

  • A Third Level Qualification in a relevant field would be a distinct advantage
  • Passion for fresh food with at least 5 years previous experience
  • National account development process knowledge
  • Freshfood/retail background
  • Previous role in account management would be ideal
  • Previous line management would be beneficial
  • Financial & commercial awareness
  • Written & oral communication and presentation/negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced knowledge of Excel
