Supply Chain Optimisation Lead

Excellent position with a leading global drinks business. Fantastic opportunity for career advancement within the business. This is a new and important role within the Supply Chain function.

Excellent package including strong base salary plus bonus.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop supply chain strategies to combine flexible, high levels of customer service at optimum cost, including development of Supply chain systems
  • Completion of freight billing reporting output to support issuing of freight cost for creation and issuance of PO’s and cost accruals in line with financial monthly cut off requirements
  • Review of analysis reporting of monthly freight spend against budget
  • Prepare the annual freight budget spend volumes and work closely with finance to develop the budget targets
  • Prepare and coordinate the completion of all applicable information and oversee full tender process
  • Identify, target and execute cost saving initiatives through vendor selection and management
  • Weekly shipment capacity review and smoothing with team
  • Sustainability & Responsibility framework - Alignment and completion of Carbon footprint reporting annually in line with HQ requirements
  • Analysis and monitoring of reported GMA (Grey Market) activity. Investigation to be completed to determine validity. manager
  • Initiate and support improvements to processes, systems and equipment to achieve higher levels of efficiency by removing manual processes to support business growth
  • Review procedures, and practices on an ongoing basis, recommending any changes to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency to reduce costs
  • Drive focus on cost through load optimisation and order consolidation within market/route specific weight parameters
  • Co-ordinate and manage company and customer projects and initiatives
  • Cross functional departmental collaboration
  • Support site audits - AEO/CTPAT/H&S/ISO/Security/local regulatory authority certification visits in relation to Export operations
  • Management of training and induction plan for new and existing team members
  • Attendance required for all market supply reviews – monthly/bi-monthly

Key Challenges:

  • Ability to maintain excellent service levels across all markets
  • Handle multiple priorities on a day to day basis including problem solving
  • Maintain freight spend within budget without compromising service
  • A clear understanding of customer needs and requirements

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong Analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with ability to clearly articulate ideas and proposals to all levels of the organization and drive this work to completion
  • Be organized and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure organization
  • Proven process improvement background would be an advantage and have an ability to lead continuous improvement activities
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to organise own daily work and be flexible to adapt to changing demands and time pressures
  • Positive and problem solving mindset, always looking for innovative ways to get things done and make improvements
  • Strong understanding of budgeting with financial logistics spend analysis and management
  • Excellent understanding of Good Distribution Practices
  • Highly PC Literate and able to use business systems effectively
  • Excellent negotiation with demonstrable track record

Qualification, Skills and Experience required:

  • Degree in Business/Supply chain Management essential
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Min. 5 years’ similar experience
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems specifically SAP and MS Office suite
  • Strong leadership characteristics
