Warehouse Manager - Fresh Produce

Job Description: Working as part of a team, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Stores, Goods in and Goods out, including equipment, resources and staff are managed effectively and efficiently and that food safety and health & safety standards are met on a daily basis to meet overall business requirements.

Location: Dublin, Louth 

Principle Accountabilities will include: 

  • Manage all returnable crate resources, ensuring that each crate is recorded and accounted for
  • Monitor and maintain racking area and ensure accurate stock control for all stored stock
  • Ensure all product movements are recorded accurately on the stock management system and all stock movements are scanned accurately and recorded
  • Be responsible for employing the optimum number of staffs in the department to meet the needs of the business and its suppliers/customers
  • To act with a high level of professional conduct, when dealing with employees, managers, suppliers’ organisations etc.
  • Ensure proper lines of communications operate within the department
  • Monitor and deal with unsatisfactory timekeeping, attendance and general performance by communication and if necessary, by implementing the company disciplinary procedures
  • Liaise with transport providers to order trucks
  • Achieve results through teamwork and the leadership of others in a fast-paced environment where the business is heavily audited
  • Ensure all operational metrics are accurately captured, monitored and controlled
  • Responsible for operational day to day quality standards
  • Oversee complete daily operation of stores and loading activities to support the Operations Manager
  • Coordinate production activities and liaise with support departments on issues that directly affect production
  • Contribute to training plan and training delivery of the stores team in accordance with organisational requirements and operational goals
  • Ensuring Supervisors and Line Leaders have effectively rostered staff in accordance with production requirements
  • Manage and drive performance through the team by communicating clear objectives, targets and KPI’s to the production Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Manage weekly KPI’s in line with department goals
  • Co-ordinate maintenance and production activities to ensure machines are running effectively and downtime is minimized or planned
  • Build good working relationships with the NPD and Trading department to support trials, new product launches from initiation to shelf and to ensure work schedules and customer requirements are achieved
  • Lead projects when required to improve operational performance and strive to continuously improve performance
  • Foster and develop a culture of leadership, teamwork, accountability and initiative

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Management experience in a packhouse is desirable
  • Experience in organizing and planning production schedules, collating data and report compilation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent analytical skills are required
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated with the ability to lead others
  • Experience in problem solving, decision-making and working as a team
  • Ability to be flexible and to work under pressure in a fast moving and challenging environment
