Logistics Planner

Our client, a global drinks company, are seeking an experienced Logistics Planner to join their team in Dublin. The successful candidate will report to the Warehouse Manager.

This role operates an alternating weekly rotating shift cycle of 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday. A night shift (10pm to 6am) may also be introduced depending on business needs.

Location: Dublin, Kildare, Meath 


  • Act as the key link between the Warehousing/3rd Party operations/Carriers to optimise efficiencies in scheduling and loading of despatches from warehouses
  • Act as the key link between production planners and ICRM team to optimise loading and improve customer service
  • Plan and coordinate product distribution activities for all inbound and outbound movements
  • Provide up to date and accurate information to all stakeholders regarding product availability to meet orders
  • Maintain distribution records and monitor pending shipments in line with requirements
  • Reduce distribution freight costs by optimising consignment shipments
  • Identify and reduce obsolescence and wastage through efficient planning
  • Coordinate with service providers to ensure timely processing of orders, bay destinations, bay times etc.
  • Analyse and resolve any delivery issues in a timely fashion
  • Review current distribution practices and procedures, identify improvements and support implementation of same
  • Identify and suggest cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, productivity and customer services.

Skills & qualifications:

  • 3rd Level Qualification in related discipline (Supply Chain/Logistics/Business)
  • 5+ years strong coordination and planning experience
  • Experience in a similar distribution planning role within FMCG sector preferable
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain/logistics processes and best practice
  • Strong team-player with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills, pro-active with a flexible and can-do attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Results-orientated to meet customer needs in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP and ERP systems – Excel advance with the ability to create macros
