Quality Manager

My client, a success Food Manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Manager to join their Technical Team, reporting to the Technical Director.

This is a dynamic role, offering great opportunities to develop within the business.

The salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate effective maintenance of all technical standards of the business through effective auditing, training and proactive quality management systems
  • Review the quality management system and recommend and implement improvements
  • Understand and apply all legal, regulatory and food safety requirements to the business
  • Ensure the quality team are managed with clear accountabilities and mentoring where needed
  • Manage customer interface for all quality matters
  • Support and participate in business improvement projects and actively drive continuous improvements
  • Support company NPD/ NPI programme
  • Lead and co-ordinate site HACCP/TACCP team
  • Ensure all required departmental audits are carried out with effective corrective actions implemented (mass balance, traceability, glass/Perspex, recall, authenticity, GMP, Hygiene, Fabrication and QMS audits)
  • Ensure sites production records are validated on a timely basis
  • Completing complaint investigations, identifying root cause, implementing effective corrective actions and closeouts. To include trends
  • Representative for site during customer, regulatory and accreditation audits
  • Ensure all site audits/visit non-conformances are closed out co-ordinating with quality team and other departments
  • Ensure there is an effective pest control programme in place with up to date trends
  • Conducting site risk assessments as guided
  • Reviewing and trending site microbiological results, identifying adverse results and co-ordinating effective corrective actions and validations

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a low risk manufacturing site
  • Degree in Food Science or similar
  • Experience working with meat is desirable
  • Good at problem solving and proven experience with traceability systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally with other teams
