Production Supervisor

I have a new opportunity for a Junior Production Supervisor to join my client, Europe’s fastest growing food business, in the Midlands. The business has recently invested €30 million in its world-class facility and is growing its team due to expansion.
The is an excellent opportunity for an individual who would like to work in a dynamic and evolving environment offering opportunities for development and progression.
Please note: this role is based on a 12 hour shift pattern; shifts rotate from days into nights every two weeks. Suitable candidate locations include Longford, Offaly, Leitrim, Roscommon and Westmeath.
Role & responsibilities:
- Managing the day to day running of the shift through a number of production operators, delivering an operation that excels across the production process and delivers a level of operating efficiency that is best in class.
- Ensuring adherence to and a desire to strive beyond defined standards in Quality, Health & Safety, Process Management, GMP, and People planning and implementing improvements in processes and practices on a daily basis.
- Providing leadership to all production staff especially on evening and night shift, where the most senior person in the operation could be the production shift supervisor.
- Taking an active part in day to day problem solving on the process and in more focused process improvement projects.
- Being a leader in the Continuous Improvement ambitions of the operation and encouraging this continuous improvement culture with all staff on the shift.
- Supporting the delivery of innovative high quality products, working closely with all internal teams in delivering business results.
Skills, experience & qualifications required:
- 1-2+ years’ experience in manufacturing and people management within a similar environment.
- Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing is desirable.
- Experience of scaling new products from development to full scale production.
- Demonstrated successful project planning and implementation.
- Challenging in outlook to avoid adherence to the status quo.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and insightful in looking at factory performance trends, with a proven track record of translating such insight into appropriate actions.
- An ability to work both independently with limited guidance, and to recognise the benefits of being a key member of the factory management team.
