Logistics Coordinator - Supply Chain

Permanent full-time

This new position, in an extremely successful food business in Louth, will sit within the Supply Chain Function and will provide Logistics planning support to the existing Supply Chain team.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Logistics/Transport planner ideally with some previous exposure online fulfilment models.

Salary: €40-45k (negotiable depending on experience)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Key business contact with approved inbound logistics providers, contacting to arrange pick-up of planned loads (worldwide) and ensuring timely delivery of inbound consignments
  • Work closely with the Supply Planning team to ensure all immediate transport requirements are met and scheduled effectively
  • Coordinate/facilitate all port inbound clearance activity – Including customs clearance through business approved customs broker
  • Draft and maintain consolidated tracker for expected business inbound deliveries
  • Engage with the Warehouse/Goods In team to ensure effective Goods In schedule management
  • Monitor and track business inbound transport spend in conjunction with the Finance/Procurement teams
  • Maintain KPI’s on freight providers used, aim to keep service levels at a high level for the business
  • Ensure smooth flow and timely approval/settlement of all inbound Logistics supplier invoices
  • Work with cross functional business team to create ‘best in class’ E commerce fulfilment model (specific focus on Logistics element)
  • Commit to continuous improvement through ongoing review of internal controls, processes, procedures and systems

Education & Experience:

  • Relevant supply chain/logistics qualification preferred
  • 3+ Years Prior experience in an Inbound Logistics role within an FMCG environment
  • Prior experience of working with an Online fulfilment business model would be an advantage
  • The candidate must be confident, diligent, responsible and self-motivated, with a high-level of exposure to IT systems
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in across Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • A very high attention to detail with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
