Regulatory Manager

One of Ireland’s most successful and innovative Retailers is seeking a Regulatory Manager to join their Technical team in their South Dublin Head Office.

In this standalone role the Regulatory Manager will be responsible for managing the implementation of legal, safety and technical standards and policies throughout the business to protect customers and prevent legal action.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Proactively creating a favourable regulatory environment in which the business can prosper.
  • Reviewing regulations and communicating regulatory risks and the likely impact to the business.
  • Liaising with enforcement contacts including FSAI, DAFM, HPRA, CCPC, ASAI, EHS and representing the business at the FSAI Retail Forum & Allergy Network Group.
  • Managing crisis with Corporate Affairs Manager to minimise press coverage.
  • Managing product recalls and EPW’s for branded and non-branded products.
  • Providing support when necessary with the investigation of customer complaints.
  • Assisting with the understanding and interruption of food and non-food legislation.
  • Investigating and responding in a timely manner to complaints received from external bodies.
  • Supporting retail with training material for stores to create a favourable regulatory environment e.g. restricted sales training, biocides, fireworks, paracetamol training, EPW training, WEEE & Batteries etc.
  • Acting as Project Coordinator for Food Safety Management System for stores.
  • Assisting with the development of policy documents for stores.
  • Supporting Marketing with product comparability review and working with legal to sign off on advertisements for the marketing team.
  • Reviewing SOP’S & ways of working with retail.

Skills and experience required:

  • 4+ years Technical or Regulatory experience within manufacturing or retail essential.
  • Degree in Food Science or similar beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Policy.
  • Ability to analyse and make decisions.
  • Experience in Project Management and Change Management.
  • Negotiation skills and gaining commitment.
  • Excellent people skills and a strong communicator.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
