Quality Assurance Technician

Permanent full-time

My client, a rapidly expanding Irish drinks business, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join their team in Dublin West.

This role will support and enable the delivery of exceptional quality standards across bottling operations.

Full-time, permanent position, offering fantastic salary of €36k - €40k DOE and opportunities for continuous development and progression.

This role will be Monday - Friday, with one in every four Saturdays. Rotating shift pattern of 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm with a 20% shift allowance. There is a possibility of night shifts (10pm-6am) during busy periods and there is a 29% shift allowance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance is met with regards to health and safety, quality legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential issues throughout production and quality processes, ensure measures are put in place to detect and prevent re-occurrence.
  • Work closely with the bottling operations team, to establish a good rapport and remove barriers to conformance.
  • Coordinate with other departments to sustain and improve product quality.
  • Lead the introduction of problem-solving approaches to deliver improvement projects.
  • Reduce and eliminate waste and identify opportunities to improve business processes through lean principles.
  • Identify and implement any relevant continuous improvement initiatives, in line with site strategic plan.
  • Ensure and champion adherence to ISO 9000 and ISO 22000 standards.
  • Assist or lead Internal audits.
  • Conduct laboratory testing and calibration of equipment as required.
  • Investigate non-conformances and carry out correct action.

Qualifications and skills required

  • B.Sc. Food Science or similar discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Developed ability to build genuine and productive professional relationships.
  • Excellent listening skills, attention to detail, planning and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with an ability to influence both peer to peer and upwards.
  • Good understanding of lean manufacturing.
