Quorum Search Partners is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join our client, an established Food Business based in Cavan, in assisting with the development and ongoing implementation of their Risk Management System.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Health & Safety professional coming from a manufacturing environment, with a strong track record of delivering the highest standards in Health & Safety.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date on current and new legislation, and guidelines.
  • Work closely with HR and the Production Management team on permit to work procedures, forms, and compliance.
  • Work with the training department in training out risk assessments and SOP’s to all operators as well as conducting training to new employees on site and process safety.
  • Provide weekly reports on development, practice, and compliance with advice on how to reduce and eliminate safety risks and noncompliances.
  • Attend review meetings on a weekly basis to give an update on site risk management control.
  • Ensure the risk assessment of new machines, new lines and processes is carried out to ensure a safe work environment is maintained.
  • Liaise with official regulatory bodies and insurers on H&S matters.
  • Follow up on accident & near miss investigation procedures to ensure they are followed and completed in full by supervisors and production managers in a timely manner.


  • BSc in Health & Safety, Food Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar position within the Food/FMCG industry.
  • Ability to operate, maintain and develop a site risk management system.
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures for Health and Safety.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication, time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.
