NPD Project Manager

My client, a leading Irish food producer is looking for an NPD Project Manager to join their team in Kildare.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to be part of a fantastic team and play an active role in the ideation stages of strategic planning within all areas of the innovation process.

You will be a key driver of the stage gate innovation process and you will deliver each project within the agreed timelines set out by the business.

If you have a strong passion for good food, an in-depth knowledge within the areas of nutrition, food safety and culinary techniques related to cooking meat and meat alternatives then this may be the role for you.

Main Duties

• Lead on assigned projects from the start of the brief to the final review within the stage gate process.
• Responsible for gate review meetings at each stage of the stage gate process.
• Attend all required daily and weekly meetings, ensuring that you maintain all required KPI reports as agreed with your Manager.
• Give presentations to customers and visit their facilities, leading the technical discussions, offering consumer insights and concepts.
• Update your own project innovation pipeline on a weekly basis, communicate any significant changes or delays to the required team members.
• Demonstrate a high level of competence in food / meat science, food processing, food legislation, specifications and recipe management.
• Completion and recording of all sensory or benchmark analysis, product evaluations and concept reviews in line with expectations.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness when using any of the facilities, from desks, kitchens, pilot plant to factory equipment.
• Any other reasonable tasks as outlined by your Line Manager.

Key skills and requirements

• BSc in Food Science or similar.
• 3+ years NPD experience.
• Technically minded and keen to problem-solve using LEAN principles.
• Organisational skills to include reporting, adherence to systems and providing updates on a timely basis.
• Experience managing Stage Gate process.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and facilitate weekly meetings.
• Ability to positively influence and encourage pace of projects and success.
• The ability to work effectively in a team is essential.
• Previous experience in a similar fast paced environment.
